This giveaway is titled ‘Forget The Messes’, but I have to say, at my age, I’m missing the messes. The messes made by the little monsters that grew up to be my beloved children. That isn’t to say that child rearing wasn’t a trying time, it was sometimes all I could do to keep from screaming when I would walk in on muddy floors, crayon painted walls, or step on a lost Lego brick. Even as my kids became teens the messes didn’t cease, and the new battle was over stinky laundry, dirty dishes, and bedrooms that looked like a tornado had ripped through them. But then in the blink of an eye, it’s all just a thing of the past, and as much as I was eager to see it go back then, I wouldn’t mind a little nostalgic mess now.

Granted I am blessed that my grand children do visit and on occasion they will spill a drink, use their Cheetos laden hands to grab a pillow, or traipse in with wet bathing suits and promptly plonk down on the sofa. But in my opinion, our culture is becoming more sterile, as outside play is replaced with iPads, and snacks come in ever more compartmentalized containers. And too have our methods of cleaning become more sophisticated. I can remember getting a workout pushing around a vacuum the size of a small car all the while doing the twist to avoid being caught in the cord. My lightweight wireless vacuum is a far cry from those days. And of course, there wasn’t replaceable pads for Swiffer sweepers, you had to get on your hands and knees and scrub with a rag.

Oh dear there I go rambling on again about the ‘good old days’ while the topic at hand is a whopping $4,500 cash. I’d love to win it, and I’ll bet you would too.
